Welcome to bayshore Drive
ARTWORK CURTESY OF PAUL ARSENAULT
Bayshore Drive, was formerly known as Kelly Road, which was named after Naples Attorney H.B. Kelly.
It was a 2 lane, poorly maintained road that crossed Haldeman Creek. At the time there was just a small bridge.
Kelly Rd. was riddled with potholes and a few small scattered businesses, some shacks and empty lots. Landscaping, if you could call it that, was overgrown and a tangled mess of palms, brush and vines. There were a few side streets, not visible from Kelly Rd., with a medley of homes.
Kelly Road was known as a BAD area with nicknames like Suicide Alley.
For this very reason, the County is revisiting a new name for the Bayshore Arts District...

What would Bayshore be without our botanicals, our gardens and our colorful potted plants. I am not sure how long Joel Toledo and his family have had a business on Bayshore Drive, but I've been here 21 years, so I can safely say a long time.. Their store front brings the community together with foliage...
Rebecca Maddox, should I even have to say more? Her name is synonymous with Pioneer. Opening Three60 Market truly gave others inspiration to come, invest and do business here. Her success flourishes and we are grateful.
Adam Kelly, saw the writing on the wall and he and his family decided to build their business here in Bayshore. A creative design, architecturally, with a front truly intriguing. Organic in design, flavor and style.
If we are going to talk about having foresight and being , any kind of a pioneer, it's Diane Sullivan, owner, broker of Naples Beach and Bay Realty. When no one wanted to touch this area, in terms of selling Real Estate, Diane found her nitch. A background in taking rundown areas and breathing life into them and thats exactly what she's still doing.
Bringing the Glitz, the Glamour and being unafraid to bring her fine jewelry business to this neck of the woods. It takes courage, trust in your instincts and the ability to build and keep building. Talent, family oriented and an asset to Bayshore... bring it on young lady...
